Payment options
Monthly Direct Debit
Payments are made automatically, direct from your bank account, to your supplier in equal monthly instalments. Payments are based on the estimated annual cost of your bill. This is usually the cheapest way to pay. For more information on the benefits of this scheme, please refer to our FAQ.
Variable Direct Debit
Payments are made automatically, direct from your bank account to your supplier, following each bill. How often you pay depends on the tariff you have chosen. Periods range from quarterly to annual. Please refer to the Tariff Details screen for specific information about the bill period for your tariff. For further information on the benefits of this scheme, please refer to our FAQ.
Cash/Cheque
This method is also known as Standard Credit. Following the receipt of your bill, payment is made, either by posting a cheque, or by cash/cheque at a bank or Post Office. For more information on the benefits of this scheme, please refer to our FAQ.
Credit/Charge Card
There are two main ways to pay with your credit or charge card:
1. Calling your supplier, following receipt of your bill, and charging it to your card;
2. Or, having the bill automatically paid with your card under a Continuous Authorised Transaction.
Details of payment schemes and cards are shown on individual tariff pages. For more information on the benefits of these schemes, please refer to our FAQ.
PC/Telephone Banking
This option allows you to pay your bills by using either your telephone banking or online banking facility.
Prepay
Prepayment schemes are ones where you pay up-front for the energy that you use by inserting coins, tokens or cards into your meter.
