Call centre staff can access the Travel Insurance marketplace from a web browser, enabling them to provide a fast and effective service to consumers looking to compare and buy travel policies over the phone.

Key features of the Travel Insurance marketplace include fewer questions to answer to receive a quotation; the ability for the user to make simple policy adjustments and renew their policy online or over the phone; and a team of insurance specialists available to the user by e-mail and phone to answer any questions about the process.

How does it work?

  1. A channel partner (e.g. unravelit.com) adds a link to the Travel Insurance Marketplace to its site or call centre. A user visiting the partner's site or phoning the call centre chooses to compare travel policies and answers questions. This question set is significantly reduced to deliver the user a faster comparison quotation.
  2. Within 2 minutes, the user receives a guaranteed quotation(s) from the site or call centre staff.
  3. The user can then apply and buy online by entering their payment details or providing call centre staff with them. If the user purchases a travel policy through the Travel Insurance marketplace, the partner receives a share of the commission and the user is sent a Certificate of Insurance. The user can then return to the partner's site to carry out simple adjustments and renewals or phone the Xelector call centre.
